| HYPERTROPHIC CARDIOMYOPATHY FELINE | |
| Description | Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy is a common myocardial disease in cats ranging from kittens to old age with males at increased risk. Hypertrophy of the left and often right ventricles results in decreased compliance and distensibility; cardiac output is further impaired by reduced chamber volume. The cause is unknown, although there is an inherited component. Often accompanied by left atrial dilatation and aortic thromboembolism. |
